      Pros

Young team who are generally nice, affable people.

      Cons

Cold Sales - I just don't enjoy this so might not necessarily be a con to all. Career Progression is basically non existent A lot of lad culture and general sexism

If you can avoid working here, you probably should

May 4, 2019 - Content Executive in London, England, England

      Pros

-Free coffee and tea -Ping pong table in office -Regular Friday socials with free drinks, breakfast on Fridays, summer conference, Christmas party -Good holiday allowance -The managers and colleagues within the Content team were lovely, hard-working people who managed to remain positive despite all the company's issues (see below)

      Cons

-THE PAY. While sales people may make good money on commission, the analysis and content teams are NOT making anywhere near what they should for the amount of specialised work they do -Lack of diversity, both within the employees they hire and the company culture. I was once told by a long-time sales person to change my chosen stock photo of an Asian woman to a white woman because 'white people sell better' (!!!!!) -Lack of work flexibility. With a job like this, it should be easy to have flexible start/end times or work-from-home days to improve work/life balance within the 45hr work week. This was not offered and suggestions to do this were immediately shut down -Very limited opportunity for career progression within the company -Content team is treated as an admin team rather than a creative team. Sales people were given more creative authority than the content team, which is ridiculous as that is what we were hired for! -Ideas to improve efficiency were ignored or not followed through on -CEO is extremely out of touch. He told an anecdote at the summer conference about how he bought a bike for €2000 and how that was 'such a steal' (while employees had to sit there and listen to it, knowing full well they're not getting paid what they should)

      Not a tech company!

      Pros

It has to be the people you work with. Those that stay up with you at stupid o’clock to fix an issue which was probably flagged months but ignored because they added another bit of JavaScript for the sales team. Get those features in! Location is alright. And the office is stealth. It’s in an alley way. As soon as you disappear down that alley you will wish you never had google maps when you went to the interview and you should have just got lost on the way to it.

      Cons

There is so many. First one is management. The C*O micro managed the development teams and decided the best tech stack ever. Ignored every recommendation given to them in favour of features that were for the sales team. You would stay up during migrations, releases and you would get a lovely thank you just for the next day to be exactly the same as the previous. Micro management and lack of care. All sort of tech related debt exists, which trust me accumulated like a snowball travelling down the alps at the speed of sound. Salaries are abysmally low compared to the rest of the market. You would get paid more selling rubber ducks at your local market. HR are a resource made up of humans but they don’t help the employee. They help out the management so don’t think you can go to them with a problem about work. They couldn’t care less. There is no training what so ever. None. There is no development or career progression. Unless you are a friend of management. In that case you could be the worst employee ever and still get promoted. Stay away if your a keen techie. Don’t let Wowcher burn that flame for being the best in your field. You are treated like a monkey here. Type quicker monkey. Type!

      Great starter job!

      Pros

This is such a fun company to work for. The people are great - - recent grads, new mums, you name it. There's such a great energy here. Nights out include going to ball pit bars, Rio-themed extravaganzas, or a night at Shakespeare's globe. There's even a ping pong table in the kitchen; it's a very work hard/have fun environment.

      Cons

Sometimes the work can be repetitive; there doesn't seem to be a lot of career progression on multiple levels if you're in the creative teams. Would still recommend!

      Worst company ever!

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Friendly IT developers, nothing else! Horrible management, tremendous environment, no bonus, no good pension, nothing. You are just a monkey that does a job, badly.

      Cons

The worst management ever seen! Lack of organisation, lack of communication among teams and inside teams, no communication at all with CTO , your line manager . You keep doing the same monkey job every day and then the company website goes down for hours and there is loss of money and shock of the CEO. You won't be heard and you won't see any career progression. Con, you care about your career, your health and your life. Instead of accepting the job here, keep looking or you will have A LOT OF REGRETS! What they promise you during the interview process will not be kept. Seriously, stay AWAY.

Sales - fantastic for progression & commission

May 16, 2015 - Sales in London, England, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

If you are good at sales, you can earn great commissions very quickly. Career progression is also fantastic, you can get to managerial level within two years. Also a fun and social company.

      Cons

I would be worried that the company don't think about the long term and keeping up with competitors. It can also be quite stressful at times, but that's probably the same with most sales jobs.
