- Work-life balance - Cab facility - Evening healthy snacks - Unlimited Work From Home
Cons
- No appreciation - None of the managers respect the technical skill - Managers recognize only show-off candidates, not the right talented candidate. - Hikes/promotions are based on favoritism not based on talent. - Manager always gives fake promises which are never going to happen. - Manager skip-level meetings with Director will not help you instead manager takes it as a personal grudge and will torture you.

Good Product Company but has scope to better
22 Oct 2020 - Senior Product Manager in ChennaiRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Work From home - Very friendly environment - Bay area type culture - Great work-life balance. Personal life and time respected very much - Salary better than most other software companies in Chennai (but not better than Amazon, PayPal, Walmart Labs,Google, Adobe and all Tier 1 product companies) - Business class travel from Director level - Good Bonus. Has been mostly above 100% last couple of years - Very capable set of co-workers and leaders to work with - Amazing leave policies and push to take vacations mandatory every year - HR team act like friends to u. U will have friends everywhere - Amazingly neat Org structure with Product org having CPO, eng org having CTO, Cloud Org, Customer success Org, Ops Org etc WITH GLOBAL REPORTING in place setting as a true GLOBAL WORKPLACE. This part is better than some of top product companies like Amazon or Google even. Overall in the list of TOP 10 BEST PRODUCT COMPANIES TO WORK FROM CHENNAI PERSPECTIVE and AMAZED to be part. If acceptance there to improve to be best comparing with top product companies, it's good for company on longer run
Cons
- Cultural and capability dilution from being a top product company visible sometimes. Don't desire to compete on talent acquisition in the league of Amazon, PayPal, Google etc. They themselves consider to accept themselves as not equal to Tier-1 product company but just one level less as per voices sometimes from leadership - No food benefits, Campus benefits are less comparitive to other top product companies, No stock nowadays to dev and managers. Only from D level but Managers, SMs who joined before 2 years have share benefit - Equity and stock options 2 years ago existed for all employees and now limited to Director above level not in line with top product companies. Reiteration that top management and senior leaders don't have a vision to be a disruptive top platform company but get convinced to be a good company. Good to Great desire or plan may not be much visible - Better to negotiate good package while entering itself because hikes will be standard and NOT great even during promotions. Career growth financially might become a challenge - Compromise will be seen a lot and passion to be best PRODUCT COMPANY in industry not visible. Comparisons will be made as we are better than many services companies and captives and so great who are below them rather comparing companies above them like Google Health, Amazon, Apple health, PayPal, Adobe to see how we can disrupt and evolve to be best company. This mindset might be visible everywhere (Top to bottom) and tough to change and improve thinking - Disruption will not be spoken about. Mostly incremental growth - HR benchmarking on career progression for Athenahealth employees can better. Say how many people do we have who have grown from dev to a Director (also financially having a bike to buy a BMW or Audi) growing along with company. Kindly measure this which will be ultimate success but you may notice less examples for now but I'm sure with openness to realize this and accept company can amazingly change

Good place turning "BAD"
8 Jul 2016 - Software Engineer in ChennaiRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Team lunch every 3 months Nice workarea Spacious cubicles Flexible timings (With a catch) Work from home option (With a catch) Restricted employee stock options
Cons
- Recently hired manager(s) is/are spoiling the company, especially our team. This is the reason for high attrition rate in the company. - Yes, The company is facing a huge attrition. - Only people how "Show off" their work will get promoted. You need to send frequent mails with everyone in cc saying "Hey I found an interesting technology it's really cool.", only then you will be recognized by your managers. - Managers doesn't know how to evaluate employees. - Increment was very less, just 6% for good performers. - HR will say about work from home option and flexible work timings while hiring. After joining others(not HR, I have not spoken to them yet) will say they are a privilege rather than an entitlement. Managers will schedule daily meetings at early office hours and mandate the teammates to attend it. Which clearly violates the "flexible timing" policy.

Cons
Lots and lots of politics that i never saw in my previous companies Frequent mass layoffs and re structuring No clear vision of what can be do more with current major products POs not having any domain experience and become a burden for developers New policies and directions from the office of CTO does not look for company and employees. The Worst company I worked in my career
16 Mar 2018 - Anonymous Employee in BengaluruRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work From Home Office in City Center Nothing for a good professional
Cons
Full of politics especially at leadership level. No proper vision and planning. They will tell lot of things, but nothing good is happening. Lot of partiality between team. Exceptional hike for employees close to directors and others will get very less. You will be working on something else than what they promised at the time of hiring. No proper planning and mass layoff both in US and India. Company is undergoing cost cutting phases.
