+ Has the fun and speed of startup culture, but the support and benefits of a much more mature company + Great work-life balance + Really smart, kind people and an exciting product + Growing fast! Lots of opportunity to take responsibility and ownership of your work + Awesome location: American Tobacco Campus is beautiful

Natural growing pains around process and global communication, but I'm confident we can handle it!

Pros
We are a small group currently, and this gives us a lot of flexibility to explore very new and exciting ideas. Since I've been on-board our very young US arm of our Germany company has created a number of great integrations into our platform. We move fast, and it's great to see ideas turn into product and be part of that process. Having really smart guys to work and collaborate with is also a big plus.
Cons
The time zone difference between US and Germany is probably our biggest challenge.
Advice to Management
The environment is ideal for creating great ideas and seeing them come to life.

+ Fun startup culture and work environment: ping pong table in the office, snacks, open work space, lots of autonomy over your work schedule + Great team: Lots of communication and positive reinforcement + Great benefits + Awesome location: Tobacco Road Campus has a plethora of restaurants nearby, tons of outdoors space to sit and eat lunch, and right across from the Durham Bulls stadium

Sometimes the office can be quiet because it's a small team and people have to travel a lot

Work-Life Balance. Acceptable salary.
Cons
Relationship between development and business leaders is bad. No good management of projects. Some people are not so friendly. Study on your own: Very minimal training available.
Advice to Management
Choose technologies that fit the team. Be more friendly with all (Don't sit alone without contact with developers). Invent a Project Manager position.

My favorite part about working for Commercetools are the company culture and the people. The company supports a healthy work life balance. It's really awesome to be a part of a team that's changing the way e-commerce platforms operate. It is definitely an exciting time to be a part of the company!
Cons
None at this time. Commercetools US has more of a start up feel, so with that comes challenges but mostly a ton of opportunity and room for growth.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you're doing! It's working. : )
