The Ares Employee Resource Group Mosaic was proud to host the first session of “Footprints: An Unabridged History of Migration in the UK”. This series of workshops explores how immigration has affected the UK over the decades. Dana Saxon of Ancestors unKnown led the sessions along with Serin and Cassandra from Cultureclash who used their theatre experience to bring history to life. Together they have created an interactive storytelling journey of migration in the early 1900s, using archive footage, newspaper clippings and other exercises. Through this immersive experience, the Ares team learned about what was happening in the lives of example immigrants and their countries of origin, and came to understand the reasons why some many people chose to come to Britain during the different migration periods. Events such as these are so important for Ares’ #diversityandinclusion culture as they continue to illustrate a commitment to creatively engage with wider communities in order to discover Britain’s ever changing social and cultural demographic including many untold histories.

Fuller, Piers Linney, Roneish M. and Ramsey Jay, Jr., for this important discussion on the accumulation of black wealth in the community. Events like this are key as they continue to propel the conversation on diversity and inclusion forward, creating more positive change within the workplace and in the community.
