Throughout February and March, leaders from across the firm visited Ares' Mumbai office to connect with our team based in India. These sessions were arranged by ANEW, Ares Network of Empowered Women, and followed themes of mentorship, advocacy, inclusion and the insights that can be gained by hearing how others have navigated their professional journeys. We are proud to share that a recent Ares in Motion (“AIM”) initiative from our Mumbai office has placed second at an exhibition run through the American Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Embassy: “Together for Good: A Photo Exhibition of CSR Activities of U.S. Industry in India”. The exhibition recognized Ares’ work with NavGurukul which helped to support the organization’s mission of bringing affordable and accessible technology education to underprivileged girls in India.
We are excited to welcome 18 student to Ares’ 2023 Industrial Trainee Program based out of our office in Mumbai, India. The immersive program runs for up to 18 months and holds a strong focus on developing skills related to Fund Accounting and Corporate Accounting. As Ares continues to grow and reinforce this program, we hope to have it strengthen our recruitment pipeline for future talent pools and support our trainees completing the program as qualified, chartered accountants.
We are proud to share an update on the class of 2023 Technology Fresh Graduates hiring program based in Mumbai, India. This cohort of 10 university graduates specializing in technology joined the firm at the start of this summer and have worked hard to further their skills in Python, QA Automation, Security & Power BI roles, Application development and DevOps, Azure and more. The team will continue to undergo training for the remainder of this six-month program and will be immersed into Ares’ business to gain targeted knowledge and develop a sharper, more competitive technology-focused skillset that they will bring with them to their work at Ares and throughout their corporate journeys.
August 1, 2023, Ares reported its Q2 2023 results which demonstrated strong year-over-year growth across our business, a robust fundraising and deployment pipeline aided by an attractive private credit market and strong fundamentals within the firm’s portfolio companies. ICYMI: Ares’ Employee Resource Group ANEW (Ares Network of Empowered Women) hosted an external speaker session in Mumbai titled “Breaking the Mold: Not All Mothers Fit the Same Stereotype” which celebrated the spirit of parenthood and stories of inspiring men and women who are breaking stereotypes surrounding motherhood and defined gender roles. Visiting speaker, Sangita Marda Agarwal, Head of Networks at Lean In Mumbai Network, joined the group to guide an enriching conversation on the diverse experience that is motherhood, creating a culture of support for mothers in the workplace and the evolving roles that men are playing within a family.
Earlier this month, colleagues from Ares’ Mumbai office created and delivered a curriculum at a day-long workshop for the women of NavGurukul, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing affordable and accessible technology education to underprivileged girls in India. The program was part of Ares in Motion (AIM), a platform through which Ares designs and delivers skill- and service-based volunteer opportunities for local communities. We are pleased to share that Ares has achieved Management Leadership for Tomorrow's Black Equity at Work Certification, an exciting milestone on our ongoing DEI journey. The Certification was launched in 2020 as a road map to enable employers to make meaningful, measurable progress toward Black Equity, and Ares is among just eight other companies in the U.S. to achieve this certification, underscoring our commitment to rigorous action and accountability. We look forward to continuing this work alongside MLT to sustain and enhance our results across the board.
