In the light of the new normal, the challenges facing the BYJU’S logistics team were many. The biggest among them was about the safety and health of the people at the heart of this team. These are BYJUites managing the inventory, movement of our physical products, and delivery and dispatch of tablets and other learning essentials. In addition, the logistics arm of the organisation also includes BYJU’S support staff who have been integral in overseeing the hygiene and maintenance of physical spaces. Together, this team of essential service providers has shouldered the responsibility for seamless operation during unprecedented times. Their hard work and resilience in the face of uncertainties have not only helped us weather the storm but also ensured that millions of students had access to quality learning. This is a story of grit and action; of people who came together against all odds to ensure that nothing puts a pause on learning. Not even a pandemic. For Tannishtha Sanyal, Principal Director of Content at BYJUS’, working in education was paved by her passion for teaching and an earnestness to make a difference through her work. Even though the BYJUite cheekily confesses that ’’the career path kind of chose me’’, there is more to the story of how she landed the role at BYJU’S. The techie, with a degree from IIT Bombay and a Masters in Education from Harvard, was working as a business analyst by the day and volunteering at a government school by the weekend. What started out as a philanthropic effort, however, took a more serious and focused turn. Speaking on what sparked an interest to work in edtech, Tannishtha said Just the energy of children is so gratifying. I love being around them. That’s when I figured that some kind of intersection between tech and learning is where I want to be.’’ She then traced her way to BYJU’S, creating learning experiences that impact a large community of students.
Meet Sarvjeet Singh, Lead iOS Engineer at BYJUS! When Sarvjeet joined us back in 2015, the year marked an important milestone in our journey with the launch of BYJUS - The Learning App. Since then, Sarvjeet has been part of the team that has rolled out all our key iOS features. A strong believer of a think-outside-of-the-bubble approach, Sarvjeet has been vital to cater to the students learning from BYJUS. More so, amid the Covid crisis, when the shutdown of educational institutes has impacted the education of children across the globe. Reflecting on his journey at BYJUS he admits that the growth over the years has been rather personal. --In terms of the tech, of course, you will learn while working but there are other things that have changed a lot in me,-- he tells us. -I am more confident when it comes to voicing my opinions or making decisions now. And it is because I get to interact with so many folks from so many teams on a day-to-day basis.--
Meet Karthick Chinnathambi, a Senior Software Engineer from the Android Team at BYJU’S! His role has been particularly vital in the recent past. He and his team have been working on a myriad of new features to enhance the student learning experience. One of the biggest satisfaction in his work, Karthick confesses, is to see the tech taking shape and witness how the end-result is received by the users. --Anything that I work on, I can see it in the market in a couple of weeks. BYJU’S is that kind of a product company,-- says Karthick explaining, --anything that I code, ultimately helps children learn better, that brings me satisfaction.--
