Residents also helped to decorate our harvest table to which Ruth added her beautiful knitted pumpkins.

  • Residents at Regents View Care Home have been busy in the garden picking their home-grown produce for this year’s Harvest Festival celebrations. As you can see from these pictures we’ve had a bumper crop of tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, marrows, apples and pears. We decided it was time to get baking and made apple pies and crumbles to enjoy at our special harvest lunch which was accompanied by our freshly harvested veg – delicious!

  • Residents of Balmoral Care Home celebrate National Grandparents Day with heart-warming messages. We have lots of proud grandparents in our home, so they were all thrilled to celebrate National Grandparents Day! We started the day by talking about our residents' grandchildren, they all shared lovely stories about their grandchildren and told us about their fantastic relationships with them. Everyone’s faces lit up during these conversations and it was fantastic to see them so happy. Following our chat, our residents shared messages for their grandchildren showing how much they love them and how they can’t wait to see them next.

  • Residents at Tudor Grange Care Home have been busy in their craft activity this week making some lovely decorations to celebrate the Harvest Festival.

  • Health Secretary Matt Hancock recently visited Kingfisher House Care Home which is located in his constituency of West Suffolk, to meet the team here. Mr Hancock was keen to know how residents and team members were getting on during these challenging times and although he couldn’t come inside because of current visiting restrictions, he spent time in our garden chatting to team members. A TV crew from BBC Look East filmed an interview with Mr Hancock during his visit and our Home Manager Mable also appeared on the programme.

  • Howdon Care Centre throw a surprise celebration for their team member. Our lovey Nurse, Cammie is awaiting the arrival of her baby girl and before she went on maternity leave, we decided to throw her a surprise baby shower! For the occasion we put up baby girl themed decorations and we brought in some delicious treats for our residents and team. It was fantastic seeing how surprised Cammie was and we’re thrilled she was pleased with the presents we got her. We’re sure Cammie is going to have a lovely time during her maternity and both our residents and team will miss her lots.

  • Residents of Howdon Care Centre had a lovely time during their Macmillan coffee morning. Our residents loved our fantastic selection of cakes and said it made it very tricky trying to decide which tasty treated to go for. They were also thrilled to receive a pair of knitted hearts. Each of our residents kept one and are going to give the other heart to a loved one. We think our residents’ relatives and friends will love this gesture!

  • Residents of Bamford Grange Care Home enjoyed their tasty Macmillan coffee morning. Although we were unable to throw our usual Macmillan coffee morning, our residents still have a lovely time and enjoyed having a great selections of cakes to pick from. We put some Macmillan decoration on our trolley to create a lovely cake display. Our coffee morning was a success and we got some great donations for the tasty treats. Everyone enjoyed being able to give something back to such a great cause.
