I normally try to steer clear of politics and I try not to judge students or their parents based on political conversations I might overhear, but today was different. On their way out to recess, I heard two first-graders of all people talking about Iran and how we "just need to nuke them all." I'm sorry but if that is what you're talking about at home then you need to reevaluate some things. Would you say something to the students or parents in this situation?

Why hasn’t the classroom model changed? There should be two teachers in the classroom. I’m shocked at the expectations put on one person. With 20+ kids in the classroom, why aren’t two qualified adults in the room administering lessons, managing behaviors etc? One teacher was sufficient 50+ years ago where most students had manageable behaviors. However, that’s not the case now. We wonder why the education system is failing.Does anyone know of any schools that use two educators per classroom?

Now that I'm home for the summer, I've been confronted with the exciting yet overwhelming prospect of completing a massive to-do list of home improvement projects. Now that I finally have some spare time, I'm struggling with what I want to accomplish first! Anyone else have this problem?

Why is it so frowned upon when you hold IEP students accountable? My campus seems to love to enable lazy IEP kids. There’s always an excuse as to why they can’t or don’t need to do things. So of course, when I hold mine accountable and hold them to the same expectations are my regular students, I’m the bad guy. Anyone else notice this too?

My principal is trying to assign me with extra tasks on the last week of school. I'm honestly super busy with closing everything out for the year but I have a hard time saying no. What's a good way to go about saying no?
