Looking to shift into project management out of the architecture/interior design world and would like to land a PM role in another field. I’m doing training courses to prep for PMP certification. Multiple courses are saying you don’t need experience in the specific field a PM job is posted for, but all PM positions I’m seeing are asking for 3-5+ years specialized experience in their field (ex. graphic design, tech, medical). Current Project Managers, how true is this when looking for a job?
Is anyone actually getting responses to their applications lately? I’ve sent over 40 applications this month and only heard back once, and it was just an automated rejection. It feels like my resume isn't even making it to a real person. When it's this quiet, do you lose your motivation to keep applying? Because I am.
I just started a new job, and the manager is making it a nightmare. It’s only my second day, and she’s already yelling and expecting perfection. I literally almost broke down crying. My coworkers are nice and feel bad for me, but I can’t do this. I signed a 7-month contract. Is it terrible if I quit right now? I don’t know how much longer I can hold out.
