Position Summary

Imani Global Logistics, Inc. is seeking a dependable and organized Operations Coordinator / Dispatcher to support daily FedEx Ground delivery operations. This role combines dispatch coordination, driver support, route monitoring, training assistance, fleet readiness, and operational problem-solving.

This is an on-site position based at the FedEx Ground terminal and requires daily interaction with drivers, vehicles, dispatch technology, and field operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, makes sound decisions under pressure, and is willing to step into field operations when needed.

Working directly with the Logistics Manager/Business Contact (BC), this position plays a critical role in maintaining service performance, driver success, and operational stability.

Work ScheduleRotating Two-Week Schedule

Week A

• Monday–Friday: Work
• Saturday–Sunday: Off

Week B

• Saturday–Tuesday: Work
• Wednesday–Friday: Off

This rotation provides every team member with a full weekend off every other week.

Hours: Daily operations begin at approximately 8:00 AM and continue until routes are dispatched, service is stabilized, and operational responsibilities are complete. Hours may vary based on staffing levels, service demands, training activities, and peak-season volume.

Monday and Tuesday are overlap days, allowing both Operations Coordinators to support training, ride-alongs, route optimization, and operational planning.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Dispatch Coordination

• Coordinate daily route coverage and driver assignments
• Monitor route execution and service performance
• Manage call-outs and staffing adjustments
• Communicate operational updates to drivers and leadership
• Support successful route completion and service recovery
• Assist with daily operational planning and execution

Driver Support & Training

• Conduct ride-alongs and route observations
• Assist with onboarding and driver development
• Provide coaching and performance feedback
• Reinforce safety and operational standards
• Support driver readiness and retention efforts

Route & Service Support

• Assist with route rescues and service recovery
• Deliver time-sensitive packages when necessary
• Provide route coverage during driver shortages
• Support contingency planning during peak periods
• Help ensure customer service and delivery commitments are met

Fleet & Technology Support

• Assist with vehicle readiness inspections
• Report maintenance and equipment concerns
• Support scanner, tablet, and dispatch technology functionality
• Utilize GroundCloud and operational software systems
• Help maintain fleet and equipment readiness

Safety & Compliance

• Promote safe driving and operational practices
• Participate in safety observations and coaching
• Support accident and incident reporting
• Maintain compliance with FedEx ISP standards and company policies

QualificationsPreferred Experience

• Dispatch, logistics, transportation, or delivery operations
• FedEx Ground experience preferred but not required
• Amazon DSP, UPS, DHL, USPS, or similar last-mile delivery experience
• Route management and driver coordination
• Fleet operations or transportation logistics experience
