Himax Technologies puts a high premium on maximizing video display performance. The fabless semiconductor company designs microchips used in TFT-LCD flat-panel displays; its offerings include gate drivers, operational amplifiers, source drivers, timing controllers, and wafer-level optics. These devices are used to run displays in various consumer electronics equipment, such as mobile handsets, televisions, portable DVD players, car navigation systems, and video cameras. Virtually all of its sales come from the Asia/Pacific region, predominantly from Taiwan; Himax also has offices in China, Japan, South Korea, and the US.
