As a world-leading maker of window coverings, Hunter Douglas keeps Peeping Toms at bay. Nearly all of its sales come from blinds, curtains, and sunscreens that it sells under such brands as HunterDouglas, Luminette, Duette, Silhouette, and Vignette. The company also produces architectural products, such as ceiling systems, cladding, and sun louvers, under the Luxalon brand. Hunter Douglas operates more than 160 companies with 65 manufacturing plants and some 95 assembly plants worldwide. The firm distributes its products through a vast network of independent franchised distributors. Chairman and CEO Ralph Sonnenberg and his family control the company.
