Pros
Small company, professional but fun; casual culture, but keeps the big picture in mind. I've only been here a short while, but so far I can say that I love the people and the work; base compensation is very fair, and benefits are great. I'd like to respond to the unhappy person that feels the job opportunities here are "great if you're over 50 with nowhere else to go." If you are so unhappy here, you know where the door can be found. I am close to 50, had a couple of choices (two alternate offers and one still pursuing me), but I chose Alpine because the company is small, the staff is talented and mature, and they know how to get the job done without alienating the customer with a know-it-all attitude. Sr. Management hires adults because the have well-rounded backgrounds and can do more than just code. They can manage people and projects. Skills you ONLY get with experience. They're not running a daycare for young kids that need to be managed. There's no drama or gossip. If you like the relaxed, yet hard-working small company vibe, this is the place. If you want a corporate ladder to climb, go elsewhere. This isn't the place. Glad to be a part of this small success.
Cons
I haven't a single complaint. Which is difficult for me to believe of myself!
