Pros

Work environment is laid back, friendly and welcoming. Company holiday parties, family picnics events, happy hours, and many employees hang out with each other outside of work If you raise your hand with an idea, leadership is open and will listen It is a fast paced work environment and encourages innovation. I feel challenged and valued. Lots of career growth opportunities if you work hard since its a fast growing company, internal mobility opportunities and hiring new sales classes throughout the year. strong focus on expanding, learning and training employees. Good PTO benefit - 3 weeks after 1 year DPL pays employee only health's insurance 100%

Cons

Still a fairly young company so some processes need to be improved

Pros

I learned an immense amount about the RIA industry while at DPL. Many of the original team members that started the company are still on the sales team, so it's easy to quickly learn how to best position DPL to RIAs. I learned a lot about the business model of DPL, the products we sold, and the day-to-day experience of RIAs from each of my managers and the executives in the Louisville office. There is a healthy competitive spirit within the company. Everyone wants to improve their own productivity while keeping in mind that "we're all on the same team." There is also a high emphasis on employee development. Managers are looking for opportunities to promote those who 1) show initiative and do more than is asked of them and 2) show an aptitude for connecting with advisors. If you are ambitious about learning the RIA industry and growing your sales skills, DPL is a great place to be developed.

Cons

This is a tough part of the industry to work in. Advisors are entrenched in their ideas and unlikely to change quickly. But, recent tailwinds of a volatile stock market and historic interest rate increases have helped the RIA industry see the value in using insurance products in financial plans.
