Pros
Hess was definitely a nicer cleaner place than some gas stations. It was a large gas station that I worked at, with more responsibilities than others. I worked closing shifts and at a very young age they entrusted me with closing up at night by myself, which was a cool experience for someone so young.
Cons
Overall it was understaffed and too much was expected of you. Often times working the closing shift I spent 4 to 5 hours in the store by myself. It got very boring sometimes or overwhelming with too many customers, depending on the day or what was going on. Eventually I figured a good system for it. Breaks weren't really established breaks, so basically you had none. Like the title says, overall this was just a classic less than desirable part-time (about 35 hours a week) job where I was overworked and bored. Now that they were bought out by Speedway, many things are changing.
