Pros
Short work hours, easy job. Easy visa.
Cons
Can I say everything? Essentially, the company will expect you to be at your work place well over an hour before your lesson. On your own time by the way, you're not getting paid for that. They treat their English staff like garbage. Keeping us ostracised from the Japanese parents. We're banned from speaking to them or speaking Japanese at all. Training accomodation is damp, mouldy with broken equipment and are fully expected to sleep on the floor. You're expected to travel nearly 2 hours to schools and arrive hours before class. The pay is low and the bonus after 12 months is a paultry 80K. On top of that, there's 0 room to move through the company as they directly discriminate against you. No matter how good your Japanese gets, you'll never move more than 1 rank to performance supervisor. But if you're Japanese...you can move up as high as you want. Wtf. The training staff were also constantly late to training days with 0 apologies or reasons and always ran past our finish time.
