Pros
The residents are always appreciative of nursing, housekeeping, dietary efforts. Unfortunately, all departments are usually working with shortages of supplies.
Cons
No true leadership in facilities. Solutions to issues tend to be knee-jerk reactions rather then action to truly correct problems. Have worked in more than 5 facilities over the years and they all operate the same way. Main concern is bottom dollar rather than customer service or resident care. Staffing is poor and mishandled....chronic shortages of nurses and CNAs in all buildings I am familiar with. In general, facilities have poor community reputations. If I weren't so close to retiring, I would have left the company when the across-the-board 3% salary occurred.
