Pros
You get to travel to interesting places occasionally for projects (though the travel systems are garbage Samsung SDS products and you will lose tons of time and money managing Samsung policies) and wonder at how such a prominent company can survive with universally low quality leadership, disdain for customers, and thousands of employees doing only exactly what their boss tells them.
Cons
This is the biggest post MBA mistake you can make. Do not take this job. Not only will it prevent you from getting your next job, but you will be underutilized (30-40% if you have any consulting background) and be given mostly administrative work (note taking, data collection) for 2 years. Samsung is not respected in tech and it is well known that this role is a non commensurate with other post MBA positions. Your salary and responsibility will not increase on par with your peers after year 1, transition opportunities to other parts of the business are almost universally blocked by Korean HR, and you will work with jerks throughout GSG leadership and the client. I can’t stress enough that they will make any promises they need to get you to Korea and then consistently screw you at every turn once you are there. Roughly 1-5% of people ever transition back to their home country (only after 5-7 years), 50% of the last class left before 2-year contract completion, with only a handful staying for additional time. The people who stay at GSG are either Europeans who cannot get a higher paying job back home or people who have stayed so long that they are unmarketable. Pro tip: if the only thing keeping people somewhere is free housing and pay, they’re probably not great to work with.
