Pros
Was here for over a decade.. a lot less than many folks who are here 20+ years.. Great customers ( top 8 to 10 in every industry you can imagine). Very fast paced and sales driven. Work life balance depends on the deals closure cycles. Winner takes it all culture, very meritocratic. Current CEO ( Greg Hughes )is awesome..very customer centric and gets technology. He is hiring back a lot of the people who left few years back.. in the product org. Unlimited holidays ( NTO ) is practiced.. most people take like Europe ( 25 + working days..). very good managers who have been there for long time. VERITAS has been the leader in Gartner’s MQ in most of the products it has for 15+ years in a row. They invented many new technologies like Vxfs, deduplication, software defined storage( when it was not called so ).
Cons
A lot of people have left recently due to change of policies related to comp plans, benefits and competition paying more. The operations leadership is a mess .They changed to the new system and cut costs in many ways ( comp plan, insurance, other benefits ) to standardize with the industry but in the process lost the best talent and managers / leaders are struggling.
