Pros

Explainly gives you the autonomy to lead/co-lead your own client-facing video projects for some big clients (ie: Uber, Visa, JP Morgan, Albertsons, etc) with monetary incentives for retaining and growing client business. You're much more than a project manager, doing things like scriptwriting, client relationship management, creative direction, and so much more. Beyond that, it's true start-up vibes in the sense that you have autonomy to pursue really any business development project that you choose, outside of the day-to-day, such as working on a new process, assessing the website for suggested improvements, writing blogs/newsletters, etc. The world is your oyster at Explainly. Great place to gain a variety of experience, sweet office, amazing culture, really cool work/clients.

Cons

It's small! With so much responsibility, things can get busy if multiple projects kick off around the same time. But that's just the nature of this type of work, especially at a small company. Well worth it if you're the 'pros' excite you.

Pros

Working at Explainly has been awesome! The team is very collaborative and help each other grow professionally. While there are projects we need to work on day-to-day, I also get the trust and responsibility to work on projects that fit my skillset and could help grow Explainly. Highly recommend for any self-starter.

Cons

Working in a creative field can be tough. At first, it was hard to decouple myself from the creative work and not take comments too personally. It's definitely a learned skill but something that was tough to get used to at first.

Pros

Nimble young team, remote or in-office flexibility, exciting clients, internal growth opportunities, video production exposure, continuous training and development, startup culture, everyone takes pride, responsibility, open feedback, and ownership in work. Highly recommend it for someone just entering the job market looking to gain invaluable career experience, OR someone seasoned looking to help advise a growing team and business model.

Cons

Large workloads and (healthy) pressure to hit deadlines when at full project capacity. The team is flexible and willing to help problem solve always, but you need to have exceptional communication to voice when you need assistance. It is a startup at the end of the day, and you must be comfortable learning new skills, receiving candid feedback, being adaptable, and being a jack of all trades.
