      Pros

      For a small company, F2 has an extensive and tight knit alumni network. It's unbelievable how many former employees are “tuned-in” and curious about recent developments inside of F2. Increasingly, F2 alumni are reaching out to one another to reconnect and plan informal events to reminisce about their time at F2. What I enjoyed most about my time at F2 was that it encouraged me to think “out-of-the-box”. I don’t even see the box anymore. Seriously, I’m like, ‘what box?’ A smart reader may be wondering how a firm with only 2 full time employees can possibly have over 30 reviews within the past year. The answer is simple, you just have to learn how to think differently, nonlinear. F2 isn’t a “quant house”. You can’t simply do mathy algebraic formulations and expect to figure it out. It’s not Big Data, it’s micro-data that helps F2 see things that others miss.

      Cons

      A wise man once told me, “...f you don't like business writing, then you're nor not going to write this job.” And you know what? That man was exactly WRITE! F2’s writing standards is a bar that is set really high. And that bar can seem unattainable at times. And sometimes you may actually reach it only to discover that the bar just got higher while you weren’t looking. F2 management is so innovative, so cutting edge, that you never actually know where the bar is. It may seem odd to obsessively strive for literary greatness while other aspects of the business model are embarrassingly decrepit, but that’s how true genius works sometimes.

      Tough, Strong, yet Impressively Empathetic

      Pros

      The first pro is definitely F2’s breakthrough approaches to gaining access to what people are really thinking. F2 doesn’t take “I-don’t-know” for an answer. I personally witnessed an interview where a procurement clerk had no idea how fast her industry was growing. F2 management was understandably furious. F2 management forced the analyst to call her back the next day to “re-stage” her. (Re-staging is not as bad as it sounds, in fact, I’m told it can be quite pleasurable for the interviewee). In the end, the procurement clerk offered a perfectly accurate industry growth forecast that could be use to make a multi-million dollar investment decision. F2’s “enhanced” intelligence gathering techniques allowed the analyst to tap into an old lady’s clairvoyant economic insight that she didn’t even know she had. None of the top consultancy firms in the WORLD can deliver these kinds of results. The second pro to working at F2 is how well F2 cares for and treats it’s employees. F2 management is tough but, incredibly, also has an elite amount of empathy. F2 knows exactly how hard to push people to get the absolute most out of them but stops just short of creating lifelong resentment. Every employee in F2’s 20 year history has loved their time at F2, except one. This ONE, extremely embittered, hateful employee has mercilessly bombarded F2 with countless FAKE reviews. This psychotic cyber-bully is upset because after 2 years he still can’t find a job. So he has chosen to use the elite writing skills acquired at F2 to viciously defame and slander the good people at F2. Both analysts still working at F2 love it and couldn’t be happier!

      Cons

      This isn’t really a con but if you’re a whiney cry baby maybe it will be a con for you. F2’s 6 month training program is the toughest training program on the planet. This includes programs like Britain’s Mi-6 counter-terrorism training; Spetsnaz, the Russian Special Purpose Force; and Traditions, Walt Disney World’s elite mascot training. Only the strong survive F2’s basic training. But if you make it through, you’ll learn ‘street-smarts’ and be able to figure out things other people can’t. You’ll learn more during these 6 months than you would in a full-time MBA program. ‘Street-smarts’ trumps formal education every time, especially in the realms of private equity and management consulting. You may be wondering why it takes 6 months to train someone on how to conduct customer satisfaction surveys. Well, the truth is, F2 reporting is nothing like anything you have ever seen. F2 works with the smartest CEOs and private-equity firms in the world. F2 has invested over $1 million in developing the most cutting-edge customer survey approach the world has ever seen. While it is unclear where these funds came from or how the funds were spent, no one questions the fact that the funds no longer exist.

      Pros

      For a small company, it's unbelievable how much time and energy management invests in the development of its people. The company has very specific processes and it's very clear to everybody what those processes are and how they should be done. Once you learn the process, you will be given project responsibility, which includes analyzing the business situation, interviewing CEOs, VPs, and other management types, writing reports, and developing analysis. For those who enjoy strategic business analysts, it doesn't get much better than F2 because you average 10-12 different projects each year.

      Cons

      The company's writing standard is quite high. This is not a con for me, but f you don't like business writing, then you're nor not going to write this job. Everyone can easily see how everyone else is performing on the job. So it becomes pretty obvious who is doing well and who might be struggling. Management is supportive if your struggling, but it's still a lot of pressure.
