Pros

Great benefits...health insurance has been going up but still the benefits are comparable for the industry. The people that work for the company are very dedicated. Pay depends on who is hiring you and the position but seems to be pretty good as pay stay for a long time.

Cons

Hmm where to start... The IT department likes post its ideals on walls and all-hands townhall meetings. With things like ethics and transparency, but unfortunately that is the only place that it exist, on paper. The CIO constantly deflects questions from employees always pushing back on employees to lead, but then when employees try to lead he can't help but micromanage even the smallest detail or tell you that your perception is wrong. This leads to eventually employees scratching their heads trying to figure out what he really wants. On one hand he leaves direction to the staff or managers but behind the scenes he is micro managing ever detail. In addition to the lack of transparency, the IEEE overall but IT most importantly is in the midst of trying to reduce the budget through attrition and layoffs. So when someone on your team leaves that person is not replaced and your work is doubled. Some teams have lost several people and headcounts moved to more manager / director positions. Classic to many chiefs, not enough Indians scenario. Also new teams are being formed, but there is no clarification as to why those selected are being moved. The positions are brand new that will have totally new job functions but none of the positions were made open to the whole company to interview. The only thing that is clear is the everyone selected(non management) is on a H1B visas....
