Pros
Solid little company. Plenty of work with a surprising amount of room for ownership of the engineering design process. Engineers are assigned in such a way that they follow each program thru the whole lifecycle so you gain experience in everything from CAD design thru physical first builds and hardware troubleshooting. An excellent place to start an engineering career. Additionally, there is still ample of room to carve out a specialty and good work is always recognized by management. Compensation is fair and engineering management is largely transparent and capable.
Cons
Suffers from some of the typical problems associated with small businesses like being hesitant to commit to medium/large capital expenditures that are needed and inefficient systems and processes that can become tedious and frustrating. While receptive and well meaning, non-engineering upper management does occasionally struggle to make definitive decisions causing confusion and lack of focus. Finally, one needs to come to terms and make peace with working within the military industrial complex.
