Pros

The people are amazing! Everyone from executive leadership to the individual contributors. Each person has a desire and passion to see the entire company succeed and is always willing to help out in anyway they can. The culture is just simply - Amazing! It's not often that you find a company, where you're excited to come into work everyday. There is so much to learn and there are a lot of opportunities to grow in your professional development.

Cons

One of the downsides is seeing people depart the business. The people they hire are exceptional individuals and you really feel like part of a team, so it's difficult to see people leave. Another downside is not having streamline processes in place. The company is still a startup and growing (so it's to be expected), but that can be difficult at times. The flip side to this, is that it allows us all to contribute to making things efficient and helping us all learn along this journey of growing the organization.

Pros

The company prioritizes a strong culture and respects work-life balance, especially with its remote setup. If flexibility and mental balance are important to you, this is a place that values that — which is rare to come across. They do a great job of setting up a virtual environment where you still feel included no matter where you are. Moreover, the leadership here exemplifies what it means to be great leaders. There is a high level of approachability, transparency, and unwavering support within the organization.

Cons

Things move very fast, and there's a lot of change happening frequently. While this is to be expected in a startup environment, it can be exciting but also overwhelming if it's not aligned with one's preferred work style.

Pros

The best thing about working at UpKeep is the company culture, and not in a gimmicky way. Management legitimately cares about you as a person, the unlimited PTO is legit and encouraged, and above all I am trusted to get my work done without someone breathing down my neck. It's a fully remote job, and upper management works hard to make sure we have plenty of opportunity to feel like we're still able to connect with our teammates. At least in my department, we have a very clear and measurable path forward in our careers, and my manager and I talk about where I want my career to go both at UpKeep and beyond it. Expectations for me are very clear, which helps me keep my head on straight while working.

Cons

If you prefer an in-person environment and are not in LA, this isn't the place for you. There is an HQ, but from what I understand it's under-utilized since the pandemic. There have been some funky rules around timing for promotions and pay increases, but it seems like those are getting ironed out as time goes on.
