Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Data Engineer to join our growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in building scalable data pipelines, optimizing large-scale data processing frameworks, and leveraging AWS cloud technologies to create efficient and reliable data solutions.
The role demands hands-on experience with PySpark, Python, AWS services, and modern software engineering best practices including code refactoring, testing, and debugging complex systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and data assets.
- Develop robust ETL/ELT solutions using PySpark, Python, and AWS services.
- Optimize Spark SQL and PySpark jobs for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Build and manage cloud-native data engineering solutions on AWS.
- Work extensively with AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, Redshift, CloudFormation, and related technologies.
- Refactor and modernize legacy codebases to improve readability, maintainability, and performance.
- Implement Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs related to performance, concurrency, and application logic.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, CI/CD practices, and version control processes.
- Utilize Git repositories and JFrog Artifactory for source code and artifact management.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong programming expertise in PySpark, Python, and Boto3.
- Experience with Python frameworks and libraries following Python best practices.
- Strong understanding of Spark SQL optimization and distributed data processing concepts.
- Solid experience with AWS cloud ecosystem and architecture.
- Hands-on experience with S3, EC2, Lambda, Redshift, CloudFormation, and other AWS services.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems and JFrog Artifactory.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in code refactoring, unit testing, and TDD methodologies.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
- AWS Certification is a plus.
