Embedded IoT / ESP32 Firmware Engineer

About the Role

We are building a next-generation connected consumer hardware product focused on real-time interaction, low-latency responsiveness, and cloud-connected experiences. We are looking for an Embedded IoT / Firmware Engineer to join our team and help develop the device-side systems powering the product.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of embedded systems, connectivity, sensors, audio, and interactive consumer devices in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will work closely with AI, backend, product, and design teams to build reliable, responsive, and scalable firmware systems for production-ready hardware.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain firmware for ESP32-based systems

Implement WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity workflows

Build low-latency device-to-cloud communication systems

Integrate sensors, audio systems, displays, and peripheral hardware

Develop event-driven interaction and state management systems

Implement OTA firmware update pipelines

Optimize responsiveness, reliability, and power efficiency

Integrate motor/actuator control systems where required

Collaborate closely with backend and AI teams for cloud-connected workflows

Support hardware debugging, testing, and manufacturing preparation

Assist with production firmware validation and QA workflows

Required Skills

Strong experience with ESP32 development

Strong C/C++ programming skills

Experience working with embedded firmware and realtime systems

Experience with WiFi/BLE communication protocols

Experience with MQTT, WebSockets, HTTP APIs, or similar communication systems

Experience integrating sensors, displays, audio systems, and peripherals

Familiarity with OTA firmware update systems

Experience debugging hardware/software integration issues

Familiarity with low-power optimization techniques

Comfortable working in a startup environment with rapid iteration cycles

Preferred Skills

Experience building connected consumer devices or IoT products

Experience with audio playback systems

Experience with OLED or embedded display systems

Experience integrating servo motors or actuator systems

Familiarity with FreeRTOS or similar frameworks

Experience preparing firmware for manufacturing environments

Startup or early-stage product experience preferred
