Job Summary


The Manager Analytics thinks strategically and identifies areas where analytics can make a significant impact on the supporting department.

Builds teams and strengthens community by coaching and mentoring. Build and translate analytics vision and strategy within their scope.

As manager they are expected to be a lead in the area of analytics and to independently use their expertise in both technical and professional competencies but spend most time doing strategic work. They empower their direct reports and members of the craft community to do their best work and be accountable for the quality of the analytics work of their team.


Responsibilities


Leadership:

  • Thinks strategically and identifies areas where analytics can make a significant impact on the supporting department (scope)
  • Builds a strong team within their area, by coaching and developing TLs and ICs. (if applicable)
  • Is able to prioritize work depending on business needs and keeping stakeholders aligned at all times
  • Translates analytics vision and strategy into execution keeping in mind the needs and specificities of the team and the scope.


Commercial Awareness:

  • Plays an instrumental role in evolving and designing new applications of analytics to business problems

Takes ownership and understands goals and objectives of supporting business partners, translating them into analytics requirements/framework Is able to independently identify key stakeholders by using their understanding of the organization.

Craft

  • Brings vision and strategy to improve efficiency in the way analytics teams work
  • Drives implementation and deployment of complex projects within their scope

Works closely with team members to ensure data quality, provide technical and tactical support, remove roadblocks and provide active support Works closely with the other managers in their area to ensure we are always working towards what’s most important for our customers and to help your department achieve its goals.

Drive actions from stakeholders (e.g. self-service visualization tools or slide decks) leveraging strong data visualization skills and storytelling, Is aware and has experience with statistical models and methodologies used within their scope..


Communication:

  • Is capable of articulating complex concepts in simple terms to senior stakeholders by independently applying storytelling techniques and tailoring language.
  • Is the advocate of analytics with their main stakeholder(s)
  • Works closely with other internal entities to ensure their teams are always working towards what’s most important for customers and to achieve high business impact

Ensures clear and effective communication to their stakeholders: proactively keeps all stakeholders informed of what’s happening, upcoming changes, projects, issues, etc.


Level of Education- Master degree /PHD in a qualitative field

Requirements of special
knowledge/skills
Has strong data visualization skills and storytelling.

  • Capable of driving actions from stakeholders (e.g. self-service

visualization tools or slide decks) and Is proficient (is still doing) and strong at coding principles (e.g. R, Python, SQL…) and data management (engineering, flows…)

  • Driven and results oriented personality
  • Open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve own performance
  • Able to understand details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
  • Able to spot opportunities to drive business growth from their craft.

Analytical and curious mindset Strong interpersonal skills

  • Open and friendly attitude
  • Expertise and experience on data analysis.
  • Strong data management, data visualization and quality.
  • Is proficient (has done but is not doing anymore) and excels at at least one of the below:

Coding principles (e.g. Python, SQL…) Data management (engineering, flows…)

Experiment design and interpreting results independently
