Job Description

The Manager, Product Engineering for the Suite Experience leads a team of architects and developers focused on modernizing isolved's core HCM user experience by replacing legacy UI patterns with modern, responsive interfaces across its HR, payroll, benefits, and talent products. This role requires a balance of strong people leadership and delivery management, ensuring teams follow effective agile practices through coaching, capacity planning, and accountability for commitments, while also developing talent, addressing skill gaps and performance issues early. Acting as a strategic partner to product management, the manager helps align quarterly commitments with realistic capacity and combines solid technical judgement with leadership expertise in distributed environments to guide architectural decisions, support code quality, remove blockers proactively, use data to assess delivery risks, and translate technical efforts into business value for stakeholders.

Core Job Duties

  • Drive effective agile execution and continuous improvement by coaching scrum masters and team leads, adapting processes to team needs
  • Monitor team health and delivery performance using data, proactively address issues proactively, communicate risks, capacity, and business impact to leadership with transparency and early escalation
  • Partner closely with product management on planning and roadmap development, using data to ensure commitments are realistic and aligned with capacity
  • Remove blockers proactively, empower teams to resolve issues, and coordinate dependencies across sub-teams and workstreams
  • Developsupport team members through regular 1:1s, targeted coaching, and mentorship to grow technical, leadership, and domain skills, while leading hiring and performance evaluations that foster career development
  • Proactively identify and address underperformance using data and observation, following a structured approach to resolution before issues escalate.
  • Maintaining technical credibility with the team through engagement in code reviews, architecture discussions, and proof of concept work
  • Connecting engineering decisions to business outcomes, explaining tradeoffs between technical excellence and speed to market

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, including direct reports and performance management responsibility
  • Managing distributed or offshore engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience managing development teams using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid)
  • Strong skills in:
  • C#, .NET, Angular, SQL server
  • Experience with:
  • Azure cloud services
  • CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
  • Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools
  • Code review processes and quality standards
  • Angular/React
  • HCM, HR tech, or enterprise B2B SaaS
