Responsibilities:
As a Senior Systems Engineer - Video, your primary role is to design and implement video core networks that deliver CUSTOMER's fixed services to consumers and businesses. Additionally, you'll be responsible for setting network engineering guidelines and standards to ensure the smooth deployment, operation, and maintenance of CUSTOMER's Video Core networks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Platform Management: Deploy, configure, upgrade, and retire core video platform elements.
  • Standards and Best Practices: Develop and maintain core video platform standards and operational practices, incorporating industry best practices.
  • Project Leadership: Lead engineering efforts on core video platform implementation projects.
  • Surveys and Audits: Conduct surveys and audits of the core video platform to ensure its optimal performance.
  • Configuration Procedures: Create and review detailed configuration procedures (MOPs) to streamline operations.
  • Integration and Verification: Configure, integrate, and verify core video platform elements to maintain a seamless network.
  • Project Oversight: Review and close core video platform projects, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive administration records, diagrams, and configurations for the core video platform.
  • Resource Management: Manage and control core video platform resources effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Continuously assess and maintain video service continuity, performance, and quality.
  • Incident Support: Provide operational support for major video service incidents as requested.
  • Troubleshooting: Develop and maintain troubleshooting and repair procedures to address issues promptly.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Identify service analysis and diagnostic tools and methods and lead technical discussions and solutions with vendors, suppliers, and technology manufacturers.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications: Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training on video systems (e.g., SCTE, Arris, SeaChange, AWS Elemental, Nagra, Tivo, Velocix, etc.).
  • Experience: At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in large-scale optical networks, optical network transport technologies, and video core technology specifications and standards.
