What is the feeling of job security at Acentra Health?

Good communication within contract teams and upper management, flexibility, wfh capabilities, and solid team dynamic, recent merger indicates good health long term as far as job security

Restructuring of organization leaves uncertainty of what growing changes will be down the line, a lot left to be desired as far as upward mobility and career mapping and pathways depending where in the US (or India) you reside, there is some concern regarding total compensation and salary bands as this is an ongoing “evaluation” during the restructure

Compensation is below current market standards.. A significant portion of the work is handled offshore, which has led to concerns about quality and consistency. Project timelines are often unclear or unrealistic, and the workload frequently requires extended hours throughout the week. The company also has a limited client base, relying heavily on one or two clients for several years, which has contributed to ongoing instability and frequent layoffs. Managers have indicated that there are limited opportunities for career growth due to the lack of new clients, and employees who express interest in advancing or exploring new opportunities are often met with an unprogressive mindset. While senior leadership continues to receive feedback, there has been little to no meaningful change at the operational level

As per coworker that has been an employee for almost 5 years said she’s been through 4 rounds of possibly being laid off if they couldn’t move her to another team (ended up in a different position so she was safe) I ended up being laid off on that 4th round they apparently thrive on budget cuts and laying off staff or ending positions

I enjoyed working here. Worked. 2 year contract and was layed- off. Not the company fault blame state funding was depleted.

Layoff sucks but it’s apart of the game with state funded companies

Looking back, not many pros except a fake perception of stability until that is taken away for no reason at all. Toxic toxic toxic.

In my opinion, this company has serious leadership and culture problems. Senior leadership does not seem equipped to move the company forward, and decision-making feels extremely centralized, which slows projects down and creates constant bottlenecks. There was very little direction, priorities changed constantly, and many employees were left feeling unsupported and burned out. The culture also felt very toxic and political. There appeared to be major favoritism within leadership and their “friends”where certain employees were clearly protected while others — including hardworking and loyal people — were let go despite strong performance and commitment. A lot of decisions felt reactive and financially driven rather than focused on building a healthy, sustainable company or supporting employees. The company heavily sells a positive image externally, but the internal experience did not match what was presented during hiring. Promises around growth, opportunity, and career development often did not reflect reality, and I personally felt that staying there long term would have hurt my professional growth and skills. One of the most disappointing parts was how personal leadership tries to make the environment feel while you work there. They act like everyone is close but once employees leave or are laid off, communication and support disappear almost immediately. That contrast made the culture feel performative rather than genuine. I would strongly encourage anyone considering joining to rethink joining this organization. Toxic culture, unqualified leadership, not run like a real corporate business.

Great place to work, people listen to ideas.

Contracts can come in slower than anticipated resulting in layoffs.

Citing the pros, Acentra provides remote work setup for Indian Employees. One of the major pros is their Health Insurance package and their Insurance partner plum . 10 lakhs Health insurance which includes parents and 50 k per year Health wallet where you can claim your OP and Health purchases. Special Kudos to Plum team. You are doing a great work.

Now comming to cons. 1) Acentra treats employees like school children. I worked in a team, where people are supposed to be in a call for 8hrs. If we are going to lunch , we need to mention in chat ' lunch break', when you come back you need to mention 'back'. Such kind of worthless process. Having worked in 3 member startup to witch to big 4. Never I have seen such pathetic process 2)Time sheet : They map time sheet to Jira, even a min is tracked. 3) Poor support from on site team. Onsite team never heeds their ear to any of Indian employees suggestion even if its valid. And we are expected not to confront them. 4) I worked under a very gentle manager, he was pressurised so much by leadership and it affected the team overall. 5) Employees fear losing their job always. Everyone I talk to , express fear about losing their job. 6) Atrezzo is the only product they have , so you cannot switch to another product if you want. 7) No team activities. HR team thinks teams meeting is enough for bonding. Its a big NO.
