What is the company culture like at Ameriflight?

The director is a great guy and is an advocate for the specialists. It was a relatively easy job. Good job for somebody right out of college.

No company culture. Old and Cold atmosphere. Horrible communication, outdated systems. “This is how we’ve always done it” attitude. Turnover rate through the roof in IT and MX, so few things can ever be completed or done correctly. Very old aircraft leading to MX problems and cancellations. Commissions are way below average and the market is very volatile. Do not expect to make 80-100k, more like 50k after taxes. No room for growth. Insurance is bad.

You do NOT get time off. If you are lucky, they will approve time off one week prior to your date. It is terrible The planes are extremely old and rough Communication is terrible They work you every saturday, but tell you that you dont work weekends

- Absolutely no personal life when you work 6 days a week. - Steve Rozell will illegally change your timecard and penny pinch everything. - Korina will single you out as she just hates the pilots. She vocally admits that pilots are just "whiny" despite us not having a life. - You will work early mornings into the late nights (5am to 7pm) 5-6 days a week depending on your route. Don't expect any QOL. - Planes will constantly try to kill you as Ameriflight refuses to upgrade planes or allow mechanics to make quality repairs. Its only about the money. - Don't expect ANY time off. Outside your "guaranteed" week, you're on your own. They can, and WILL, deny any time off outside of your guaranteed week. Need to go to your own wedding? Too bad... - Have a problem? Keep it to yourself. They dont care. The regional Chief Pilots do, but Chris will just sweep it under the rug and pretend it doesnt exist despite him being invested to your face.

-The pay was decent, $24.50/hr, 3 hours a night for the relatively easy workload. -They offered as much cross training as one was interested in. I learned how to de-ice planes, drive forklifts, loaders, and tug tractors. -OT was easy to accrue assuming there were mechanical issues. -This job was the most fun I have ever had at work. -Airplane enthusiasts get to admire airplanes up close. -This job would offer insight about full time positions at the airport.

-Low hours. It was 3 (guaranteed) hours a night. Most employees worked up to 5 shifts. Only a handful of management positions were hired full time. -There is a time crunch to ensure planes are departing on time. -Ameriflight was contracted by UPS at the location I worked. Communication between the two was not the best. -The weather on the ramp swings to both the extremes. I worked shifts that were 110+ on the tarmac, and -14 with the windchill. -They do not offer financial incentives for their employees like boot vouchers, or protective hand gear. -It is a cargo job with some degree of risk involved due to the nature of moving heavy cargo cans. -Since it was part-time, there were no health benefits.
