Large (20 bn+) private company that is well-managed and genuinely cares about its employees. Great pay and benefits.

Some departments are better than others. As a whole, the company is facing mature products and intense competition so profits are not as good as they were in the heyday of Newspapers and TV/Radio. Consequently, it's not as good to work here as it once was; but it's still pretty good. Given the good work environment, turnover is relatively low which can make advancement a bit more difficult.

They do a lot of great environmental work and put their money where their mouth is when it comes to that. Their businesses are well diversified which offers a lot of career mobility as well.

It’s a boys club and the internal politics and posturing are like nothing I’ve seen before. The emphasis on employee retention has resulted in a lot of unqualified people being in senior positions.
