Pros
Good pay and benefits
I find the pay and benefits fairly competitive for the dental and medical device industry. The health insurance and holiday entitlement are decent, and overall the package feels reasonable for a support role.
Reasonable work–life balance
In my role, the hours are generally structured and predictable. Compared to sales roles, there’s less pressure around targets, and depending on the team, flexible or hybrid working can be a real bonus.
Exposure to advanced digital dental technology
One of the biggest advantages for me is working with cutting-edge digital dental systems. I’ve gained a lot of experience with imaging, CAD/CAM workflows, and software-driven dental solutions, which has helped me build specialised technical knowledge.
Supportive colleagues
The people I work with day to day are usually helpful and collaborative. Even when things get stressful, having colleagues who are willing to share knowledge and help troubleshoot makes a real difference.
Cons
Leadership and communication challenges
While my immediate team may be supportive, I often feel disconnected from senior management. Communication from the top can be unclear, and changes in direction sometimes happen with little explanation.
Limited career progression
I don’t always see a clear long-term career path. Opportunities to move beyond senior support or management roles feel limited, and promotions can be slow.
