What is the hiring process like at European Wax Center?

Free waxing and a paycheck. If you dont like something process wise, dont worry it will change in 2-3 weeks.

No solid structure, outdated leadership and management style. Your literally just a number if your outside of Jersey. Trying to see what sticks is not a solid leadership style. Right now they want the DM's to lie to their teams and talk about values and upward mobility. There is none. All center mangers are upset because they dont bonus but are expected to work over 40hrs being on call. NONE OF THE districts have made their targeted goals in years. They just throw out numbers and see what sticks. Interview process is chaotic as well as training. Several new DM's have already expressed being lied too about job responsibilities. There is no upward mobility for minorities they are definitely not promoting anyone of color or anyone they cant micromange. Patel group is trash run.. what company offers a 401k without a match lol they are a joke.

*Easy to get waxing experience as they hire people straight out of esthetician school *Helps to get customer service experience

*Training is incredibly rushed as their only focused on getting bodies in the centers to wax. Most services I had to learn on my own, or asking fellow waxers for help *Management in the Brooklyn district is close knit and bring their friends/families into stores to help push into quitting/fire staff they personally dislike, even if they are amazing at their jobs *You are expected to push guests to buy products they don't need, and to get additional services even if they don't have hair in that area *No break room or area to put our personal belongings *Overworking waxers by double booking without consent, having only one waxer in, most services are 15 minutes back to back so you wont even have proper time to clean your wax room *Managers who have come and helped to increase numbers/metrics are fired simply because they are nice to staff and defend staff from harassment from HR and upper management *HR will inform managers about forms submitted by employees about bullying/harassment by said manager, and start looking for any small reason to write up employees and fire them * Extremely high employee turnover rate (both with employees quitting, and being fired) for no good reason *Refuses to allow staff to be fulltime due to not wanting to pay benefits *No PTO or sick time unless your fulltime (which they refuse to do) *False write ups so they have a reason to fire employees they dislike

unprofessional management, bad training, shady business practices, stealing commission, employee favoritism, constantly running out of supplies

Coworkers were friendly and helpful Front desk did well to get books full normally Easy to get book and sell

Pretty low tippers A bit harder to guarantee rebooks Management

The manager was a company person, was good to get along with.

The people in this area speak down to the employees which was a major problem for me and my younger staff. I made sure to stick up for them and myself respectfully but some days those women would be so cruel.

-base pay -bonuses (if you hit the monthly set goals) -uncapped commission if you’re good at sales -a little more freedom in making your schedule

-Depending on ownership, you may find yourself begging for a raise and to be fairly paid -it’s time consuming with training, hiring, interviewing, store upkeep, etc
