How are the career development opportunities at Flo Health?

      Flo Health reviews

      Strong team, weak leadership

      Anonymous employee
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Great team and good salary.

      Cons

High level of favoritism and nepotism — career progression depends on personal relationships with management. Growth and promotion largely depend on whether you’re lucky enough to be assigned to a valuable, visible project. If not, strong performance alone won’t help. Chaotic priorities, poor and vague communication.

An incredible place to grow while making a genuine global impact

      Executive assistant
      Current employee
      London, England

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

A valuable area to impact: Working at Flo Health is more than just a job; it’s a mission. Even in an operational and support role like an Executive Assistant, you feel deeply connected to the goal of improving health globally. Supporting the leadership team means you are directly enabling the success of a product that millions of people rely on every single day. The work is deeply meaningful. High standards and expectations: The bar is set incredibly high here, and it is a culture of pure excellence. The expectations push you out of your comfort zone in the best way possible. If you are someone who thrives on rigour, takes pride in flawless execution, and loves rising to a challenge, this environment will bring out the absolute best in you. Extremely talented team and limitless growth: I am surrounded by top-tier, exceptionally smart talent. The leadership team is inspiring to work with. Because of the high-calibre people and the scale-up environment, the opportunity for professional development is unmatched. As an EA here, you aren't just managing schedules; you are treated as a true strategic partner to the executives, which accelerates your career growth tremendously.

      Cons

Because the standards are so high, the environment is incredibly fast-paced. It’s not a place for someone looking to just "coast." The workload can be intense, and you have to be highly adaptable, resilient, and proactive to keep up. However, if you are ambitious, this "con" is actually a massive pro.

Healthy and ambitious mission, solid engineering culture

      Engineering manager

      Business outlook

      Pros

I absolutely enjoy working here. The level of engineers is very high - we hire only Senior+. During the interview process, we manage to select strong employees and pay a lot of attention to soft skills. This gives us the luxury of working with smart and pleasant people around us, Engineering culture is very strong. We have a set of engineering principles, a clear impact-oriented career framework, and leadership that is mature and people-facing.

      Cons

No cons that I would find systematic and non-opinionated. We have been constantly working to improve the environment, and it works in many cases from my POV.

      Cons

You need to be very adaptable to change & fast paced work. Not necessarily a con but can be for some people.

      good place to work

      Senior software engineer

      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Great people to work with. - experimentation and expertise growth opportunities

      Cons

      - extremely hard to get a promotion and it is not a transparent process - being visible matters more than your impact on the team/systems you own and run. - hard to continuously improve things even if rushed with product stuff to pay back is almost impossible. Short wins are more in priority.

Great place to continuously grow and learn

      Software engineering manager
      Current employee
      London, England
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Transparent communication about current goals, bets, business metrics, wins and failures, reasoning behind decisions. All the communication is done in a respectful manner, treating employees as adults. - A lot of opportunities to take responsibility, ownership, drive bigger things forward and make impact. This is highly supported, encouraged, noticed and rewarded. - Product decisions are backed by actual performance data; non-performing features are removed to not bloat the product and the codebase. New features are built in productive collaboration with engineers, where both sides contribute to finding effective solution both from product and engineering standpoints. - Work-life balance is respected - Competitive compensation, with a reasonable framework behind it - Great people to work with and learn from - Tech stack and tooling is moving forward, never lagging behind the industry - Hands-on and approachable leadership

      Cons

      - Shifts in priorities happen; mostly because the company is reasonably fast to react to what is happening in the market and in the world. It may require focus and resilience to keep pushing bigger and slower initiatives forward.

      2

Success often tied to favoritism, not merit

      Senior software engineer
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Opportunities to work on interesting projects if you're on the right team

      Cons

      - Salary review process lacks transparency, decisions are often unexplained, and there's no clear link between performance and compensation. Very demotivating when effort and outcomes don't align with career or salary growth - Promotions and recognition tend to go to those who are more visible to CTO and favoritism rather than on actual performance or contributions - Communication from management is pretty poor overall, things are often vague, and feedback is inconsistent. Way too often the explanation for decisions is just - it was the CTO’s decision - no reasoning, no discussion, just a dead end

Good place to grow and learn, though some areas could use improvement

      Senior android developer
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The company offers great exposure to modern technologies and interesting projects — it’s a solid place for developers who want to expand their technical skills. Many teammates are talented, collaborative, and supportive, which creates a generally positive working atmosphere. The structure and processes are improving, and there’s room for individuals to take initiative and make a real impact.

      Cons

Communication can sometimes be tense, especially during busy periods — a bit more openness and empathy in feedback would make collaboration even smoother. Career growth and salary progression could be more transparent. At times, it feels like recognition doesn’t fully reflect the effort invested. Workload expectations can be high, which makes maintaining work-life balance a challenge, especially for those with families.
