Toxic environment with rude coworkers and unrealistic expectations

- Job scope of a part timer is like fufilling all the job scopes of a full timer - people here are rude, stuck up and do not talk to you at all during your shifts. Most of the time you are the one who has to start the convo and even so, it does not mean that the replies of the other party would make you want to continue having a conversation with them too. - If you are tasked to work in the stock room (which depends per outlet, Jem is the worst btw smallest stock room), most of the time it’s a one man job and u have to climb up the high wooden shelves which can be very dangerous. - Full timers are super lazy and don’t do their job, mostly just fufill the bare minimum. Since they’re the ones who settles our ROTA they always put themselves to do the EASIEST with the least walking to do i.e cashier, fitting room. If not they just come to work for 2-4 hrs and then they have their break already?? They will pretend like they’re SUPER busy on their computer also when in actual fact they just keep looking at the ROTA page trying to rearrange/change people’s ROTA/chit chatting and laughing hysterically in the stock room. - No phone allowed on the store floor, must keep it inside the stock room with your bag - Music played here is all AI generated so you can forget about trying to get through a tough day at work with music therapy lol. - If you want to quit while you’re still in the probational period which is 3 months u must give them a 2 weeks notice and fufill working 60 hrs in the whole month before u can quit btw. - even if they teach cashiering, you also won’t be tasked to do cashiering alot they always only put the usual full times/part timers to do the same cashiering job all the time and so you won’t even be able to apply your cashiering skills to learn also and imprve yourself. - VERY incentive driven company everyday they will send a target that they need to hit and send a message out into the groupchat at 2pm,6pm,8pm to see if they hit their target. Part timers are all required to memorise the current ongoing promotions and relay it to the customers everywhere. Also need to memorise exchange policy and they will expect you to get it down by 2-3 shift which is crazy expectations. Also need to memorise the UVPs of each clothing piece so as to entise and push the clothing item to customers. Personally, I find it very hypocritical of a company who leverages on the branding and image of women empowerment and togetherness when their working environment is full of bull and uncaring senior women staff. Surely there are some nice people around but most of the time you will get “bullied” at the beginning and there will be alot of unfair stuff said/done to you. One full timer even whined saying that “why are my minions not here today to do my work for me” I think using such derogatory vocabulary to describe the part timers speaks for the whole toxic working environment for itself already. People here also take it as an offence if you ask them for hell or won’t even help you willingly. Overall experience was very tiring and very unhappy. Don’t reccomend working here as a part timer at all. You can gain better working experience in the retail industry with a better working environment and people elsewhere for the same crappy pay they pay you here.
