Pros
Great discount, fair pay and benefits, diversity in co-workers
Cons
Management gets moved around too often, affecting the morale of the team.
Pros
* kind, intelligent and fun team members who work really hard * Managers.who care about your success
Cons
* seven grocery managers in the last 15 months and the entire grocery team has either quit or transferred since August, but I'm not sure anyone has been interested in *why*, nobody new had been transferred in the department until this summer, after about two years, team members are not given time to follow up on our of stocks, on hand adjustments or credits * Punitive disciplinary systems: 1/2 a point for being 6 minutes late, points for calling out without applying sick leave, no leniency or understanding based on circumstance * Company culture is becoming a lot more corporate * 25 cent bag fee, even for SNAP users * Central decides who gets raises and are generally too involved in the minutiae of store level management * Poor pay for assistant general managers * Company doesn't live up to its reputation in our community and the customers can tell * Team members are expected to be excellent, more than any other place I have ever worked, but are paid minimum wage * 10% of employees will not get a raise, no matter how great they are, and the same two people always get the highest raise * Current general manager is stingy, rude, gripes under her breath about employees, barely helps on the floor, barely interacts with department managers, always has the AGMs do her dirty work (like firing), sometimes won't go to the floor to help even when there is only one other manager And it is super busy, not sure she's ever asked me how I am, leaves angry signs all over the place, has never helped with the truck, somewhat unresponsive to correction from EE (HR), once told a tenured employee that because she had not cross-grained she was not eligible for a raise... but that employee had never been given an opportunity to cross-train, has had meetings with staff in which she used Google translate to communicate even though we had multiple native Spanish speaking managers at the time, once reprimanded an assistant general manager for not tying trash bags to the grocery carts that we set out before a truck, has a religious exemption from not having open availability but has gotten other ppl in trouble for not, team members and managers alike * Only Latinx staff work in the cafe and have *no* opportunities to cross-grain * nobody makes sure that staff in the departments are relieved so that they don't get behind while taking a lunch break, many department staff do not take breaks * Some team members have been singled out and even let go for doing things other ppl were doing *with* them * Company negotiated a super awful union contract with one store, they seem to have completely forgotten what it is like to work at the store level * One AGM was having sex with a team member and they were not disciplined or even transferred, but the team member was harassed by other people in the company * Assistant general managers are transferred *a lot* so it's a toss up if that manager is good or not * In many ways store level managers cannot advocate for staff-- I asked for a raise when the county minimum wage was increased but other store employees did not. I was earning the same as a new hire even though I had 18 months of experience working as a buyer and had received raises, and was told "if we give you a raise, we have to give everyone a raise", central just doesn't seem to understand that if you don't appreciate your employees they will have a revolving you'll always just have new employees, I'm not sure anyone is advocating for store level staff at central * People used to come back to work at our store because the environment was so great, now people are just quitting
Pros
The starting pay is a little higher than in comparable companies
Cons
Management is resistant to even minor increases even while they praise your excellent performance and loyalty to the company. There is also obvious bias where employees that pal around with some managers are paid better and are not expected to fulfill their duties. The lazy but charming employees' duties will be delegated to the diligent but quieter workers, who will remain unrecognized and overworked.

Pros
Great discount offered and weekend pay bump
Cons
Poor management and low pay
Pros
Good people and good pay
Cons
Some pretty late evening shifts
Pros
Great company culture, decent pay, and overall good place to work. Love the free meals that was provided every shift!
Cons
The interview process was kind of intense to be honest.
Pros
-You get to take Shrink Home -raise can end up as more then other places (25 cents up to a dollar rather than percentage) -Easy to move up to management (could also be a terrible thing)
Cons
-If you are a hard worker they'll drain you for everything you got -you never know where you will be on a given day -most ppl don't get to specialize in a dept, you are everywhere -Pay is lower then competitors, with no chance of extra pay for experience
Pros
Kind coworks and managers, decent pay, free lunch (if your store has a food bar), chill vibe
Cons
pay could be better, corporate is annoying
Pros
The managers are great, they clearly communicate and check in often (daily and with performance reviews). The store preaches kindness and compassion and pretty much abides by it. Exceptionally difficult/problematic/disrespectful customers are banned from calling/visiting the store and they stand by these decisions. The only time I haven't witnessed action being taken is when customers commit (repeated) microaggressions, especially anti-transgender sentiment. The management and staff do a great job training new hires, but no additional compensation is offered to those who do the training. The pay starts off on the 'higher' side of minimum wage -- $17 -- and after 6 months employees are eligible for a $0.50 raise. The employee discount at 30% is great but could be better in that it is a natural/organic store so things are extremely expensive and outrageously marked up. The best part is the free to staff produce, bread, and wellness items.
Cons
The upper management is very disconnected from the actual store. People from the central office will come in and demand changes that make hourly workers' lives more difficult and do not actually benefit the store or its employees. The CEO Scott Nash claims open communication where customers and employees can email/text him directly. I acknowledge that it is impossible to reply to everybody as someone who owns 15+ stores, but if you're going to claim open communication then you really need to commit to it. Customers often complain that they have reached out but haven't received any kind of response and its quite annoying for hourly employees to have to deal with the ramifications of his decisions. Regarding performance reviews, when hired you are told that there will be 6 and 12 month initial reviews; while the first came around the necessary time, the 12 month review in which you are supposedly eligible for $1+ raise do not occur in a timely manner. It can take months after the year mark to actually sit for your performance review which is, in my opinion, misleading since they advertise that after one year you can receive a raise but don't actually conduct that review for months past your anniversary. Assistant managers and managers in training get moved around a lot; while I can kind of understand and respect this, it also makes continuity in the general operation of the store difficult (as they often don't replace the manager that was moved for months if at all) and messes with morale if the manager is well liked by staff.
