Pros
The pay is good, and the hours are reasonable. Training is simple, and understanding the sales process is easy.
Cons
Working here can be extremely challenging, especially at the front desk. Unfortunately, rudeness from others—whether it's clients or coworkers—is something you'll experience constantly, regardless of the time of day. Some former employees, like massage therapists and estheticians, are nice, but many can be rude if you make a mistake. They often act like they know how to run the front desk better than the front desk staff and seem unwilling to do their own jobs properly.
Management can be strange and often assign you hours they personally don’t want to work. No matter how nice or hardworking you are, they will take advantage of you and expect you to work as if you've been there for years.
Training is minimal and easy at first, but you're quickly thrown into the job with little to no support. Instead of helping you or correcting your mistakes, you’re left to figure everything out on your own—which often leads to avoidable errors.
I wouldn’t recommend this job for younger people looking to work at the front desk, unless you’re someone who can tolerate rude and inconsiderate behavior regularly.
