Pros
Most reviews on here are either fake or forced by upper management for NEW HIRES that get entered for a gift card - woooooo. Don't forget to SOI so they can replace you 3-6 months later! No job security.
Like many others, dedicated my time and efforts to this company for almost 4 years of my professional career and regret every second spent working here.
Worked in Account Executive, Processor and Underwriter roles.
PROS: Paid training (mediocre at best) and paid licensure, company parties, good starter job but get out as fast as you can... you will meet a few friends along the way. As many other reviews have pointed out "misery loves company". You will leave with thicker skin and a clear vision of what you DON'T want in a future employer.
Cons
CONS: buckle up people...
Extremely Young Atmosphere - glorified frat house, managed by children (it's actually laughable to think about an Assistant Vice President being 25 years old...) The egos that make up "leadership" for this company are a joke as they would all flounder in any other legit corporate environment. Very few of these people are actual leaders.
Terrible Work/Life Balance - excessive turnover rate speaks for itself... taking advantage of new college grads or other desperate young professionals. Started in January 2020 and was last person remaining in training class of over 40+ Account Executives by December 2020. You are just a #, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. In order to make a "livable wage", you'll be expected to work excessive OT while also being scolded for doing so. It's an HOURLY position, not salary. They will lie to you when you are hired. They can and WILL cut your hourly wages with no warning as everyone is an "at will" employee. Hard work does not pay off here... unless you sip the Kool-Aid, don't even bother with seeking a promotion or leadership role. Nepotism reigns high with this company as promotions are not equitable to experience (ex: accusations of drugging new employees will result in a slap on the wrist and you'll be promoted in no time).
Scamming Veterans - You will constantly be questioning whether you are scamming veterans..... and that gut feeling is right. Admiral Lynch should be ashamed to represent this company, but will continue to collect a paycheck. The reviews online from veterans are either 1. FAKE (obvious that scathing reviews are removed by NewDay customer relations team) or 2. FORCED (taking advantage of veterans that are in so much debt that they are desperate for help , begging them for a good review after they are rushed thru the process before they find out that the refinance put them in a worse position).
Employee Benefits - terrible benefit package and once again taking advantage of new college grads that have no idea what documents they are signing DAY 1. Health, Dental, Vision, Life and 401K are all mediocre at best.
Mental Health - you will enter this new opportunity bright-eyed and excited to make a difference in the lives of veterans... you'll leave questioning your own moral compass and overall purpose.
My advice is save yourself the overwhelming anxiety as this place is not worth it. Trust me, go find a job ANYWHERE ELSE.
