Pros
Pays timely on a weekly basis
Cons
This company has no interest in workplace morale. It sends harsh emails with misinformation and out-of-context details. For example, I experienced an unexpected move and sale of my home. The stress started to impact my health. I had to search for a new residence in a very narrow window of time, and unfortunately, had to do so during work hours. Omni sent very harsh emails about not meeting the required work hours each week, although I had made them aware of my issues. They couldn't care less about my personal welfare, but instead, inflicted more stress via threatening emails. They also attempted to change the terms of the Statement of Work (SOW or contract) I executed via email, using a very harsh writing style. After I pointed out the inaccuracies and provided documentation (a copy of the executed contract), they did reply with an email stating that the initial was incorrect, but no acceptance of accountability was offered. Instead, the response proceeded to justify the inaccuracy, stating they confused it with a contract for those hired after I was hired. After the experience, I was locked out of their systems and gave the reason that they had reports that I work outside of the United States. An allegedly tech support person snooped around my computer and confirmed that I am within the United States and unlocked my account. The next week, they locked the account again. This time, they terminated my contract and offered the reason that "Omni’s business model limits contractors to working within the US. As a business partner, you are expected to operate within Omni’s model. We have decided to end our business relationship and you will be ineligible for reassignment with Omni. " I was born in the United States and have never resided or traveled outside of the United States. I am a naturally born United States citizen. On the program I was working on, the ball kept moving, but the pay rate never changed. For example, the client continuously changed tasks and processes, resulting in increased workload, but Omni never offered a pay increase to compensate for the additional tasks.
Beware of this company, because they treat independent contractors (ICs) like employees instead of ICs.
