What is health insurance like at UPMC?

Pros

Great team, build great knowledge of health insurance benefits, build organizational skills and time management skills, good position to network

Cons

Upper management NOT receptive to working from home when needed if more than once a month (but will work from home themselves), get stuck in the middle between issues with Sales/Account Management and the clinical/configuration team (then overruled by Sales/Account Management if you side with anyone else except Sales/Account Management), opinions voiced seldom heard

Advice to Management

Treat employees like professionals and allow working from home for exempt employees,

Does UPMC offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Cheap benefits, good tuition reimbursement, lots of internal job mobililty, the PTO is pretty awwesome

Cons

Not the best pay, lots of people just get by- so your experience really depends on those directly around you

What is the retirement plan like at UPMC?

Pros

Free pension plan with minimum of 2.5% salary match every year (literally free money), 50% 401k match up to first 6%.. 27.5 days vacation after 5 years with 7 holidays. Cheap insurance was about $25 for mid-level medical and high-level dental.

Cons

No parking will ever be available.

Does UPMC offer dental insurance?

Pros

You get a pay raise every year Try to start you off as high as they can offer

Cons

Medical is too much now before the medical was good and didn’t cost as much and had better options as far as vision and dental now their vision and dental are not really good

Does UPMC have a pension plan?

Pros

Exempt full time staff start with 22.625 days PTO, 27.625 after 5 years Free pension plan based of years worked + age: 2.5% salary every year minimum, 3% around 35, 4% around 50, and up to 5% after 70 "credits" Health and dental combined for the Silver plan is about $23 every other week for single individuals. Around $100 for the Gold plan.

Cons

Low 401k match 50% up to 6% Absolutely no good parking options Very low pay relative to other businesses, especially in the tech jobs
