Does foodpanda offer massages?

Pros

Good culture, supportive managers, free ice cream on wednesday, fully stocked pantry

Cons

Lack of good mental health support, not much festival celebration, not much of equality awareness activities, back in probation if you get transferred, with potential of termination

Advice to Management

I worked for 10 months, first 4 months in operations, then was transferred to WFM. I was already confirmed, but put in probation again and ultimately terminated for failing it. They should have at least transferred me back to my old department or to another role. This is a very sketchy practice, and I felt like I was fooled for agreeing to a transfer that was not even initiated/requested by me.

Does foodpanda offer relocation assistance?

Pros

- International and diverse team full of fun-loving people - The product has fallen behind the competition so there is no shortage of challenging problems to solve - Large and complex systems and organisation to work through - Work on a truly global scale product

Cons

- Low base salary and poor benefits package. No bonuses. Only a selected number of senior ICs received a small number of RSUs recently in a desperate attempt to reduce turnover. - Product teams are feature factories. The company has an entire business team dedicated to collecting and prioritising feature requests. Relationship between many product teams and business can be antagonistic and political. - Divide between Berlin and Singapore teams makes collaboration difficult and political. - Borderline toxic culture of bias towards high visibility projects over actual impact. Breeds resentment between the haves and have-nots. - Low talent bar due in part to the low compensation package.

Low base salary and poor benefits package.

Does foodpanda offer dental insurance?

Pros

- Good benefits (personal insurance, dental, flexi benefits, L&D incentives, food credits 1x week) - Strong team culture (can't say the same for other teams) - HR does take feedback seriously - Able to move teams/markets easily (good internal opportunities)

Cons

- Low base salary (not competitive vs market rate) - APAC basically 'controls' the entire market (implementing stricter KPIs/targets and frequently moving the goal posts) - Local management can be bias at times - Mid management is not empathetic/understanding - always focus on numbers even though the role involves both qualitative and quantitative skills - Focusing on growth is not bad, however, I personally feel that the company has scaled too quickly in order to compete with the market and overlooked on improving existing products which is the main crux of the issue internally. - No bonuses/equity given (only to C-suite employees within APAC/SG) - Expats generally are paid more than their local peers

Advice to Management

1) Instead of wondering why foodpanda does not get the best talents or why talents leave within 2 years, perhaps look inward at the compensation packages and improve on them. There are so many great talents who have left/are leaving for "greener pastures" due to the incompetent salary. For a company owned by Delivery Hero, they sure do pay peanuts so the C-suite management get paid more. 2) Listen to the team more, especially when they are on the ground doing most of the work. HOD should learn to be more empathetic and understanding rather than condescending and being a micro-manager.
