Interview
The recruitment process at 10up began with an initial voice call to determine the role and requirements, in order to establish a preliminary match. I was subsequently scheduled for an initial meeting to familiarize myself with the company and share my personal and professional experiences. Throughout the process, communication was clear, concise and I was kept informed of my progress. This transparency was highly beneficial in understanding that the process is well-defined, tailored to individual schedules, and promotes equal opportunities, which is a core value at 10up. I subsequently completed formal interviews and code evaluations and have been offered a position at the company.

Interview
I have been following 10up since long time and heard good things about 10up from my friends. I have checked opened positions from 10up website and applied to Senior Web Engineer position. Application form is simple and after submission I got email about my submission and "What to Expect" pdf file which explains everything about hiring process including various stages, who will take interviews, what kind of things they will ask. It's really good. They have asked to submit "Google Questionnaire doc" Google form. It has questions like, past experiences, remote working experiences and all. I liked the questionnaire because it helps anyone to understand the candidate. I'm telling this because I had an experience in hiring process previously so overall, I loved it. I have enjoyed entire hiring process. There are multiple stages. It helps me to understand more about 10up, people, culture, values and same for 10up too. Communication is exceptionally good. I always get regular updates from them about next steps.

Remote working experience, WordPress development experience etc.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at 10up in Oct 2022
Interview
I had known about 10up through their visibility in the WordPress community, so I browsed 10up and other companies (specifically looking at WordPress VIP partners). I applied on the 10up website directly. I quickly received an email with a "what to expect" document, a Google form (took about 15 minutes; general experience and logistics), and a request for code samples. As I did not have any public-facing code that I felt demonstrated my true up-to-date skillset, I spent an evening putting together a WordPress plugin that I thought clearly demonstrated my skills. After this, the next step was a Zoom interview with a recruiter. This interview was very friendly and low pressure, just discussing my experience and some specific role-based questions. The next Zoom interview was with a Director of Engineering, which was more technical. There was no whiteboarding and no quizzing trivia questions. We just chatted about cool projects, technical experience, and technical lead experience. The final Zoom interview was with the VP of Engineering. This was just a final conversation and discussion of placement and logistics. Overall, the process was very positive. Everyone I met with was excited with the work that they do and most of the time the interviews just felt like "talking shop".
