A phone screen with the HR person was quickly arranged. From the way she talked she was new to the company. The "Engineering Director" was also supposed to be there but was too busy to attend. After going through standard questions on my background and experience I was given two "technical challenges" for which I spent some time to go through. The challenge questions are similar as what another mechanical engineer candidate indicated but in my opinion there were too product-specific to be a pure evaluation, especially this early on in the interview process. I kept this in mind while going through them. Immediately after submitting my entries, I was rejected without any feedback.
