I applied online, the process took almost 3 months.
I had an absolutely horrible experience applying for Senior Software Engineer position at 360T, Frankfurt, Germany. I have never in my life seen this level of disrespectful and insincere treatment from any company as I had to go though while interacting with 360T Careers Team.
FYI - 360T is the FX arm of Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse).
Background - I'm a Software Engineer based in India.
After getting an invite for completing the e-assessment, I did go through these reviews on Glassdoor, which I have to admit, already gave me a very big waving red flag for what I've signed up for, but I decided to go ahead with it and told myself that it can't be that bad, but trust me, I couldn't be more wrong, every bad review posted here (which means almost all reviews) are true and I say it now having experienced it firsthand myself.
First, there was a 2 part coding assignment, which others have already mentioned in their reviews. The problem was interesting one and I solved it and mailed them my solution within a day. However afterwards, for almost 1.5 months, despite my repeated requests regarding my application I didn't receive any response from them. Finally they sent me a rejection mail, which I replied to highlighting how all my earlier mails have gone unattended and unacknowledged. To which finally I got a reply from them saying they never received my mails (I know now that they were giving a fake excuse). Even after that it took them another month to review my solution and finally invite me for an interview.
Second, was a Technical Interview with 2 Software Development leads at 360T. This too started horribly. Initially I was given an interview date and time which I agreed to, but at the time of interview nobody from 360T joined the interview and I wasted 30 minutes of my time just waiting for them. I wrote them multiple emails in that period but got no reply. Then finally 1 hour after the interview time, I got an email from them saying interview needs to be rescheduled due to some technical issue (again a fake excuse). 1 week or so after the original time and date the technical interview finally happened. It was certainly a difficult 30 minutes interview, questions were related to core Java and advanced concurrency and multithreading concepts in Java, most of the questions are already mentioned in other reviews. They asked me about 20 questions in a rapid fire style but I sailed through the technical round as I am already aware of those concept because of my work experience and intensive studies.
Third, a few days after the technical round, they invited me for an HR round. This time fortunately they were uncharacteristically quick. The HR round was typical, they asked about me, why I'm interested in the company, why do I plan to relocate to Frankfurt, what is my expected salary, whether I'm bringing someone else with me, do I know the process to obtain visa. But the person taking the interview was very unhelpful with my sincere queries, mainly because there were lot of things I didn't know about the salaries they offer or I wasn't aware of the process involved to obtain a visa. When I asked them about salaries, they arrogantly replied stating if I plan to move to new country I should know what kind of salaries to expect. Upon my queries about the next steps in the interview process they told me that there are 2 more rounds after HR round. One is another Java deep dive and the final one is an interview with some development team manager.
However, after a few days of the third HR round they send me a very generic rejection mail that had nothing to do with my skills as a Java Developer or even my communication skills. I believe they just rejected me because their HR department is too lazy to help outsiders navigate though labyrinth of relocation and visa processes or some random factor or excuse that they just cooked up for not proceeding with my application.
Getting a rejection after HR round was specially very disappointing for me, so I wrote them a long mail asking for feedback. To which they informed they can't provide. So finally I wrote them a feedback as fortunately I'm not bound by some hypocritical corporate policy detailing how horrible my experience had been with 360T Careers Team, to which they again shamelessly responded with fake and insincere apology and how they respect candidate's time, effort and commitment, which I can tell with my repeated bad experience was just another phony response.
All in all, I think that their Careers Team is a joke. They have no respect for sincere candidates and they treat them with such a level of apathy that I find it hard to believe that they are part of a company that runs world's third oldest and one of Europe's biggest stock exchanges. They have no empathy or understanding of basic human behavior and are absolutely unwilling to help even serious, talented and hard working people from other countries. And finally if you ask them for an honest feedback, they shamelessly hide behind the age-old excuse of company policy.
Maybe they should create a policy on "How to treat human beings with basic courtesy and respect". But I highly doubt that they will.
So, if you choose to apply, apply at your own risk and expect the absolute worst treatment.
