I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ABCOMRENTS (Itasca, IL) in Oct 2016
Interview
Phone Interview. After less than 5 minutes found out real position-single person IT department who reports to Director of Operations. Position is newly created and maxed out at $50K. They called it "manager" because two lab technicians report to this person. I suggested to them that they call it what it really is "network admin" and list the salary otherwise other IT Manager's like me will apply thinking the same way I do. A few days later the position was re-posted as IT Manager-Entry Level. Based on the other interview review for this position, I am very glad my interactions with them ended right then and there and that I was not selected for and/or brought in for a face to face interview. This company needs to figure out what its goals and objectives are for posting new positions, as well as being upfront with what the position actually is and what it pays.
I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at ABCOMRENTS (Itasca, IL) in Oct 2016
Interview
The interview was very unprofessional. I was so appalled I actually took the time to email them and post this review. The interview started by a simple resume submission on Indeed, they then asked me to answer some questions, and then they called me to come in for an interview. They were clearly not prepared because the whole process took about 2.5 hours and they needed a break to check emails and take calls in between. Besides that, they all seem to lack communication and have no idea who I had already spoken with. They then go to tell me that they need me by the 15th, which is 2 weeks from from halloween. Then called to make an offer and said they needed me to start in 5 days, on halloween. The offer for the IT manager position was outrageously low and they give you no room for negotiation. They then never even let me denie the offer, they just assumed I didn't want it anymore. About 4 hours after they gave me the offer, they then told me the position was no longer available and that they decided they don't need to hire for the position anymore. They needed to "regroup" and "think" about it. Overall, I almost lost my current job today thanks to the company not being straight forward and reasonable. Please beware, just to put things into perspective, It Managers get paid at minimum 80k, they offered far below that.
