A hiring manager reached out to see if I was interested in an open position on their team. I was overqualified -- but I wanted to hear more, so I got on an initial call with them. The position was a full-time contract role. During the call, I asked what the hourly salary is -- but they told me they were not allowed by management to disclose any information relating to compensation. They also were not able to confirm whether this full-time role would eventually turn into a position with benefits. I found it bizarre — and frankly, an unethical way of acquiring talent. I declined to interview. I hope whoever took this position is being compensated fairly.
