I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMD in Feb 2025
Interview
Talk to the hiring manager on the phone, and he then scheduled 4 interviews, two on Friday, one on the following Tuesday, one on Wednesday. Friday I had a tech screening and a behavioral interview. The tech screening was the worst one I've ever been on. The interviewer started by talking about hating leetcode style screenings, and then proceeded to give me a problem that she created that was a leetcode style problem except the description made no sense whatsoever. I tried to ask for clarification but the interviewer would go on long winded explanations of things I already understood that were not related to the interview. I had to continuely interrupt and restate my question because I wasn't given much time to complete the task because she didn't leave enough . Before the coding section she talked about how she previously worked in silicon valley startups and how this wasn't one, but went on and on about how much money she used to make in startups and how startups work, but didn't really explain how AMD was different. The behavioral interview was fairly normal.
After those interviews, Monday night at 9pm my remaining interview meeting invites were cancelled with no explanation. I responded to the person cancelling and the hiring manager (who i was to meet with on Tuesday at 5pm) to get an explanation. I heard nothing before the interview was scheduled, so I joined anyways and no one showed up. I didn't receive any explanation as to what was going on until 9PM Tuesday night, 4 hours after my interview was supposed to happen, and then I only received a prewritten response and no apology.
I've never felt so disrespected during the interview process. They felt so disorganized and like no one knew what the process was.
AMD recruiting had no involvement in the process, which probably explains why it was so poor. I spoke to the HM on linked in and everything was arranged through him.
