Spoke with recruiter and then had interview with hiring manager. Both people I spoke to were knowledgable and respectful. Unfortunately, the interview was the last i heard from ANSER. I sent a thank you and two follow-up emails over the next month but sadly was ultimately ghosted. All that to say: don't take ghosting personally, it might just be part of their recruiting culture.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you experienced a challenge and what solutions you created to overcome it.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ANSER (Arlington, VA) in Sept 2025
Interview
Only had the initial recruiter gate review. The recruiter was one of the most knowledgeable and professional recruiters I have spoken to in my career. Her request to talk was intriguing and genuine. She explained the details of the position well and was genuinely interested in me applying. She said she I was a good fit. Unfortunately, she went on PTO, and the position was filled when she returned to work.

Question 1
How does your diverse background translate to being successful in this position?
Phone screen. The recruiter kept rescheduling it, so it was 3 weeks until I spoke to her. It was very bizarre and she was weird. Kept pausing too long before speaking. Felt like a waste of time honestly. The hiring manager only talked about how great he is and was not serious in the interview. Probably because I was the wrong gender and color. The CHRO was very dismissive and flippant imo. Not a great experience. I had all of the qualifications listed in the job posting but like I said, wrong gender and color so I saw the looks I received when I showed up for the interview. I guess they didn’t feel the need to take me seriously because they knew they wouldn’t hire me. So I don’t take them seriously either. Receptionist said “it’s like a family” code phrase for toxic. No thanks, I already have a family and don’t need another toxic workplace.
