I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at APPINIO (Hamburg) in Mar 2024
Interview
They reached out via LinkedIn and did a one on one call to match the profile. Second round was technical interview of one hour with the lead and a senior Frontend engineer. They asked questions about Angular architecture, signals, change detection, state management etc.
Third round was a case study of no fixed period (but rather whatever you can manage in 7 days).
This 7 day code challenge was well crafted but no time cap means no caps on expectations as well. If you do a basic solution in 3 hrs or well thought in 10hrs, it doesn't matter. Because there will always be something missing.
The process till code challenge was super fast but after that team took a week for review and feedback was provided on phone amd email.
The code challenge misses a lot of expectations of the team which makes one choose best approach from their pov and not from what Appinio would need in its day to day.
Don't waste more than 3 hours on the code challenge because feedback you will get will be a summary in 2 mins.
It's better to do a live coding session than a 7 day challenge at the end of which you cannot know what tools are available in the toolkit of a dev and only what the code is.
Team is more concerned about linting, which can be solved by vscode extension rather than the approach behind the solution.

The time you took to interview with us throughout the various stages is greatly valued. Regarding the evaluation of the technical assessment. We do acknowledge the importance of clarity in evaluating candidates' skills and ensuring that the process accurately reflects the skills needed in the role.
